Description
The SC 1002 V is a wedge-shaped seat cushion that tapers from back to front. The difference in thickness — 8 cm at the rear and 1 cm at the front — holds the pelvis in a slightly forward-tilted position, and because that tilt helps preserve the natural curve of the lower back, it is the feature that matters in chairs and office seats used for long periods. The viscoelastic foam softens with body heat, takes the shape of the seated surface and spreads weight across the contact area instead of concentrating it. At around 42x39 cm it works on standard chairs, office chairs, wheelchairs and car seats. It is chosen to improve seating comfort where long periods of sitting are unavoidable. If direct contact with the tailbone must be avoided, the SC 1001 or SC 1004 ring cushions with a central opening are more appropriate.
