Description
A wool-style lumbar belt wraps the lower back to keep it warm and apply light compression. It contains no stays or rigid supports; its role is not to immobilise the spine but to keep the area warm, ease muscle tension and give a light sense of support through the day. The breathable acrylic fabric sits comfortably under clothing and is easier to wash and care for than natural wool. It is chosen for low back pain, chronic fibrositis, geriatric rehabilitation, daily wear and sports activity. Size is selected by measuring waist circumference, with the 72-134 cm range divided into six sizes. Where genuine stabilisation is needed — a disc problem, a herniation or the period after surgery — a lumbosacral brace with stays should be considered instead; your doctor decides which is appropriate.
