Description
Actosed Endo is used for immersion disinfection of medical instruments and endoscopes. It is chosen for heat-sensitive devices that cannot be autoclaved — the optics and electronics in an endoscope do not tolerate high temperatures, so chemical disinfection is the standard method for them. Being free of aldehydes removes the sharp odour and the airway irritation that aldehyde-based products cause in staff. In use, instruments must be immersed with hinged parts open so every internal and external surface contacts the solution; lumened instruments must also have their channels filled. Dilution ratio and contact time are stated on the product label and vary with the intended use, so refer to the label for those values.
