Description
Compression pantyhose carry the pressure beyond the calf, up through the thigh and hip, which is why they are chosen when the complaint involves the upper part of the leg as well. Class CCL2 gives noticeably firmer compression than the light below-knee models and is normally used on a doctor's recommendation. Put them on first thing in the morning while the legs have not yet swollen; putting them on later in the day reduces the intended effect. The cream skin-tone finish is less visible under light-coloured clothing. Garments like this are hand washed without wringing or rubbing — machine washing and spinning damage the elasticity of the yarn. Size is chosen from leg circumference measurements rather than by guessing a ready-to-wear size. In pregnancy, after surgery or with chronic venous complaints, your doctor should decide which compression class is appropriate.
