Description
The finger ruler is a ring-shaped measuring aid that speeds up transferring the working length onto files during root canal treatment. Because it is worn on the operator's finger, the silicone stop can be adjusted the moment the file leaves the mouth, without reaching across to the bracket table. That makes it practical to re-check the length at every file change and keeps the whole sequence working to the same length. The slot on the ruler is also used to shorten gutta-percha points to the measured length. The stainless steel body is suitable for autoclaving and should be cleaned and sterilised after each patient. A ruler whose scale markings have worn to the point of being unreadable will introduce measuring errors and should be replaced.
