Description
The Frasaco AG-3 is the most widely used adult standard working model in dental education. Upper and lower jaws occlude in stable intercuspidation and all 32 model teeth are screwed into the base, so a prepared tooth can be unscrewed and replaced and the same base stays in service for years. The occlusal anatomy corresponds to an unabraded 15–20 year old patient, giving a consistent reference for cavity preparation, crown and bridge work and occlusion studies. The elastic, removable gingiva provides realistic soft tissue for subgingival margins and gum-related exercises, and can be ordered separately when it wears out. A threaded metal back plate lets the model be screwed into phantom heads or fixed with a magnetic mounting plate. Combined with the AG-3 DA demonstration articulator, simple functional jaw movements can also be shown. The hard thermosetting plastic stands up to bur work, making the model suitable for faculty laboratories, vocational schools and chairside patient explanation.
