Description
The FS-212BCEG is aimed at users who spend long stretches of the day in the chair. A reclining backrest lets you change their position without moving them to a bed, and staying in one position is the single biggest factor in pressure injuries, so regular repositioning sits at the heart of good care. The high back and headrest stop the head dropping forward in users with weak trunk control. The armrests are desk-type: cut down at the front so the chair pulls up to a table and the user can eat there. The legrests elevate and adjust in angle — bringing the legs horizontal is a real comfort gain for users with swelling in the lower limbs. Because reclining shifts the centre of gravity backwards, the anti-tipper must always be fitted and the brakes locked before the backrest is lowered. This is a steel-framed chair and heavier than aluminium models, so if it will be lifted into a car often, a lighter model may suit you better.
