Description
The bathroom is where most falls at home happen; wet floors, tight space and standing manoeuvres combine badly. The FS-799L removes the most dangerous of those three by keeping the user seated throughout the shower. The frame is aluminium: in a permanently damp room, a rust-free material is what decides how many years the product lasts. Drainage holes stop water pooling so the seat surface does not turn slippery. Non-slip rubber tips hold the chair on wet tiles; those tips harden with age, lose their grip once they do, and should then be replaced. When setting the height, aim for the user's feet resting flat on the floor — it is the single adjustment that most affects balance when sitting down and standing up. Position the chair within reach of the shower head and of a grab bar if one is fitted.
