Description
Imident is the powder component of the acrylic used to make temporary crowns and bridges that protect a prepared tooth until the definitive restoration is ready. It is mixed with the matching liquid of the same range and formed against an index or mock-up to shape the provisional. Marginal fit and surface finish are what decide the quality of a provisional; a material that does not develop porosity collects less plaque and keeps a polished surface cleaner for longer. The material is cadmium free and the manufacturer states high colour stability, while the range of shades from light to dark makes it easier to approach the patient's tooth colour. It is produced to BS 2487 Type II Class III, falls under ISO 13485 and carries CE marking. The 100 g pack suits practices and laboratories that make provisionals regularly but at moderate volume.
