Description
A hernia truss is a support belt that applies external pressure over the site of an inguinal hernia. The pad is positioned over the hernia and the belt is tightened around the waist, with the aim of reducing the bulge and the discomfort that appear when you stand, cough or strain. It is important to understand that a truss does not cure the hernia: surgical repair is the definitive treatment, and the belt only provides support. Unilateral and bilateral versions exist, so tell us which side the hernia is on and your waist measurement before ordering. Do not use a truss continuously without consulting your doctor, and seek urgent medical assessment if a strangulated hernia is suspected.
