Description
The Marathon micromotor handpiece is the laboratory hand tool used for trimming acrylic, adjusting plaster, grinding metal and polishing. It connects to the control unit by a cord, with speed and rotation direction selected on the unit and operation through the foot pedal. The collet allows quick bur changes; if the bur is not seated fully and the collet properly tightened, the tool runs out of true, which spoils the surface and raises the risk of bur fracture. Before ordering, check that the cord plug and connection type match your existing control unit — the E-type wording in the product name and a collet-retention handpiece point to different connection systems, so this needs clarifying first. Increasing heat and vibration during long sessions is a sign of tiring bearings. Clean dust out of the collet regularly and keep to the manufacturer's lubrication schedule.
