Description
The forehead compress is a gel pack shaped to the brow line, used for cold application during headaches and feverish episodes. What sets it apart from the other shapes is that it is mostly used lying down and for longer stretches, which makes being able to secure it to the head its most important feature. The fastening strap means you do not have to hold it or keep repositioning it, and it will not slide off while you rest. The bead gel structure settles onto the curve of the forehead and stays cold far longer than a damp cloth — the clearest practical difference, since it removes the need to re-wet a cloth every few minutes. The inner face is fabric lined, so the gel never touches the skin directly. If warm application is wanted for sinus discomfort, the compress can be heated in a microwave or in boiling water; always check the temperature by hand afterwards, as facial skin is thin. If a fever persists, see a doctor rather than relying on a compress.
