FS-5771 Manual Patient Transfer Chair

Description

The FS-5771 is built to make moving a patient from bed to chair, or from chair to toilet, easier. Its distinguishing feature is the manually adjustable seat height: level the seat with whatever surface you are transferring to or from — bed, WC, wheelchair — and the person can be slid sideways instead of lifted. That is safer for the patient and far less punishing on the carer's back. The steel frame is durable, and the solid wheels never puncture and need no maintenance, rolling easily on level indoor floors. The rear wheels lock by pedal; confirming that lock before any transfer begins is the single most important safety step with this chair. Armrests and footrests are fixed, which keeps the chair simple and strong but calls for a little more care during a sideways transfer than a model with fully swing-away arms.
