Description
The Mesilife MC-101 is a conventional digital thermometer intended for following a fever at home, suitable for infants through to adults. A reading takes a few seconds longer than with a non-contact forehead device; in exchange, contact measurement is less affected by outside factors such as room temperature and distance, which is why doctors often suggest keeping a contact thermometer in the house as well. The unit beeps when the reading is finished, which reduces the risk of pulling it out early and recording a value that is too low. The last-reading memory lets you compare how the temperature is moving without having to remember the previous figure. The battery can be changed by the user; renew it if readings start taking noticeably longer or the display fades. For a correct result, keep the arm pressed firmly against the body for an underarm reading, and place the tip under the tongue with the mouth closed for an oral one. For hygiene the thermometer should be used by one person and the tip cleaned after use by the method the manufacturer specifies.
