Description
A shampoo cap is a single-use product for washing hair in bed when a person cannot be taken to the bathroom or should not have their head washed with water. The cap comes pre-moistened with shampoo and hair conditioner; you place it on the head, massage from the outside to clean the hair and scalp, then discard it. Needing no rinse is the real benefit: there is no water to carry, no wet bedding and no need to move the patient, which makes hair hygiene practical after surgery, in intensive care and in bedbound care. If you want it warm, hold the unopened pack in a microwave for 20 seconds or stand it sealed in hot water; it can equally be used straight from the pack without heating. After microwaving, check the temperature by hand before putting the cap on the head. Each cap is single-use and must not be reused.
