Description
With its metal-footed base the FS-516 is heavier and steadier than plastic-based stands, and that weight becomes an advantage when an infusion pump or several bags are hung from it. Height adjusts from 120 to 200 cm, a range that works comfortably at the bedside and for a seated patient. Keeping the bag above the level of the patient's vein is what allows gravity to maintain a steady flow; when the flow slows, hanging height is usually the first thing to check. The castors let the stand travel with the patient — while moving, make sure the giving set is never pulled tight and that the wheels do not run over it. A metal base can mark delicate flooring, so on parquet or laminate a protective mat under the castors is worth using. Lowering the column fully when the stand is not in use reduces both tipping risk and the space it takes up.
