Description
The FS-5311 supports the user's back so they can sit up in an ordinary bed rather than a hospital bed. A fixed-angle backrest does what a stack of pillows cannot: it stops the body sliding down through the night and spreads the load across the neck and lower back more evenly. The back angle adjusts in steps, so you can choose a steeper setting for eating and a more reclined one for resting. The back surface is covered in perforated fabric — for someone who stays in one position for long stretches, sweating and trapped moisture along the back is a genuine source of discomfort, and a breathable surface reduces it. The pillow at the head completes the neck support. The unit folds for carrying and stows in a wardrobe between uses, which also makes it practical for hospital stays and travel. Where the user cannot change position unaided and spends the whole day in bed, a hospital bed with a powered back section is the better answer.
