Description
A single-point cane suits people with mild balance loss who need to transfer only a small share of their body weight onto the support, and the FS-910L covers that everyday need. Setting the length correctly decides how well it works: with the person standing upright in their shoes and the arm hanging loose, the handle should sit level with the wrist crease — at that height the elbow stays bent about 15–20 degrees and the support works at its most efficient. Hold the cane on the side of the stronger leg and move it forward together with the weaker leg; the common mistake is holding it on the weak side, which largely cancels out the support. The rubber tip is the cane's only contact with the ground; once the tread is worn smooth its grip drops and the tip should be replaced. If balance loss has progressed, or the person must put a substantial part of their weight on the support, consider a quad cane or a walking frame instead.
