Description
A quad cane is the choice when a single-point cane no longer gives enough stability: four points of ground contact make the base of support far wider, and the cane stands on its own when let go. What distinguishes the FS-921 is the wide spacing of its feet. A wider base means more stability, and it shows most when a significant share of body weight goes through the cane. The trade-off is space: a wide base can be awkward in narrow hallways and on stair treads, so if your home has very tight passages a narrow-base quad cane may suit better. Height adjusts from 72 to 95 cm — set correctly, the handle meets the wrist with the arm hanging loose. In use, make sure all four feet are flat on the ground; on sloping surfaces quad canes are actually less stable than single-point canes, because the feet cannot all sit on the same plane. Replace the rubber tips as they wear — all four ending at the same height is the basic condition for stability.
