Description
The FS-939L is an adjustable cane for people who want light support while walking. In the early stages of balance loss a cane is not only physical support but a point of reference that restores confidence; many people keep going out because of it. For that reason it is better to start using one when the fear of falling begins, rather than waiting until it is unavoidable. To set the length, have the person stand upright in their shoes with the arm loose at the side; the handle should reach the wrist crease. Hold the cane on the side of the stronger leg and swing it forward with the weaker leg. The aluminium shaft is light and unaffected by damp or salt air. Check the non-slip tip regularly and replace it once the tread flattens — a cheap piece of maintenance that matters more to safety than anything else on the product. If more support is needed, consider a quad cane or a walking frame.
