Description
The FS-942S is a quad cane for users who need more support than a single-point cane can give. Four-footed canes suit people who put a continuous share of their weight through the cane: where a single tip can slip sideways under that load, a four-footed base spreads it over a wider area. Height adjusts from 74 to 97 cm. When setting it, have the user measure in the shoes they actually wear day to day — switching to footwear with a different heel height means the cane length should be checked again. While walking, do not plant the cane far out from the body; placed too far away it pulls rather than supports and works against balance. A quad cane performs at its best on even indoor floors; on gravel, slopes or badly uneven outdoor ground, take care, because not all four feet will make contact. Checking the tips for wear once a month and renewing all four together keeps the cane sitting level.
