Description
The first question when choosing a walking frame is whether the user has the arm strength to lift it at every step. A wheel-free frame such as the FS-963L gives the greatest stability because all four feet stay on the ground, but moving forward means lifting the frame and setting it down. If the arms are not up to that, a front-wheeled model suits better. The aluminium frame is light and does not rust in humid air, and here lightness translates directly into usability. Set the height with the user standing upright in their shoes and check the handle reaches the wrist crease. Turning in a tight space can feel awkward in the first days; making the turn in small steps, rotating the frame a little each time, is both safer and less tiring than trying it in one movement. Check all four rubber tips are sound before use. The folding frame is easy to stand aside when it is not needed.
