Description
The Haspet oral care kit brings together what is needed for routine mouth care in intensive care and long-stay patients who cannot clean their own mouths. Dryness and microbial build-up develop quickly in people who cannot brush their teeth, who are not fed orally, or who breathe with the mouth open — regular care is the most practical way to keep that in check. Use is a three-step routine: pour enough antibacterial solution into the measuring cup, soak the sponge tip of a swab stick and wipe the whole oral cavity, the gums and the surface of the tongue, then take a little moisturising gel onto the sponge and apply it inside the mouth. The swab sticks are single use — take a fresh one for every session. In unconscious patients do not oversoak the swab, because of the aspiration risk, and position the patient head-up where possible. Having every component in one pack removes the need to source the items separately for home care.
