Description
A cork insole has a cork body finished with a natural leather top surface. Two properties of cork define this product: it is very light, and under body heat and pressure it gradually takes on the shape of the foot. It may therefore feel firm for the first few days, then begin to hold your foot's own contour — an adaptation synthetic insoles do not offer. The leather covering is natural hide; it allows moisture exchange, keeping the inside of the shoe drier, and stands up well to friction. Cork insoles are especially favoured in dress shoes and boots. The point to watch is care: cork and leather lose their structure once saturated with water; if the insole gets wet, take it out of the shoe and dry it at room temperature away from any heat source, never in direct sun or on a radiator.
