Description
The Respirox nasal mask covers the nose only and is used with CPAP and BiPAP devices in the treatment of sleep apnoea. Compared with a full face mask it touches less of the face, which reduces both the feeling of confinement and the number of pressure points on the skin — but it suits only users who can breathe comfortably through the nose. If your mouth falls open in sleep the air leaks out, and a chin strap or a full face mask may be needed instead. The cushion that meets the face is silicone, which conforms to facial contours and limits pressure loss. Vent holes in the mask exhaust the carbon dioxide you breathe out and must never be blocked. The 360-degree swivel elbow reduces the pull of the tubing when you roll onto your side, and the clip headgear lets you take the mask on and off without resetting the fit each time. This item is the Large (L) size; mask size is chosen by nose dimensions, and the wrong size causes both leaks and marks on the bridge of the nose.
