Description
The Roll injection plaster is a small adhesive dressing used to cover the puncture site after a needle has been used. A small absorbent pad set on the adhesive backing takes up the little blood that comes from the site and keeps it off clothing. It is one of the everyday consumables in vaccination rooms, phlebotomy units and general practice. In use, the plaster is pressed into place immediately after the needle is withdrawn; once bleeding has stopped it can simply be removed, and there is no reason to leave it on for long. That matters particularly for people with sensitive skin, where leaving adhesive in place for hours can cause redness. The plaster is also a standard item in first aid kits.
