Roll Med medical paper tape is a non-woven backed tape used to hold gauze and wound dressings against the skin. What distinguishes paper tape from silk or plastic tape is its gentler adhesive: it pulls at the skin less on removal, which is why it is preferred for elderly patients, people with thin skin and any situation where the dressing is changed more than once a day. Its hypoallergenic construction suits sensitive skin. The porous backing lets the skin underneath breathe, reducing the irritation that sweating causes under long-worn tape. The tape tears easily by hand, so you do not need to reach for scissors mid-dressing — a practical advantage when only one hand is free.
