Description
A sterile gauze compress is the basic dressing material placed directly over a wound to absorb exudate. The hydrophilic weave takes up fluid quickly while remaining breathable, so the wound surface is not left sitting in moisture. This item is made in a large format for cases where small compresses are not enough — long surgical incisions, burn areas and wide abrasions — and can be folded down where a smaller pad is wanted. Each pack holds two pieces and the product is sterile: open the pack only at the moment of use, and never store and reuse an opened piece. Once positioned, secure the compress with roll gauze or tape. Do not use packs that are torn, damp or past their expiry date, as sterility cannot be assured in those conditions.
