Description
The 10 × 10 cm Suprasorb P is the size used most often in routine dressing changes, on wounds producing moderate to heavy exudate. The dressing has three layers: a waterproof outer film, an absorbent polyurethane foam core and a perforated, non-adherent contact layer facing the wound. That contact layer keeps the dressing from sticking to the wound bed, so changes are less painful and new granulation tissue is not torn away. Absorption runs vertically, so fluid does not spread towards the wound edge and the surrounding intact skin stays protected from maceration. The dressing is breathable and can stay in place for up to seven days if the wound allows. It is used on pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, leg ulcers, surgical wounds and skin graft donor sites. Choose a size a few centimetres larger than the wound on every side so the dressing also covers the wound margin; for wider wounds the 15 × 15 cm size is available.
