Description
Suprasorb P is a three-layer polyurethane foam dressing for wounds producing moderate to heavy exudate. The outer layer is a waterproof film, the middle layer is absorbent foam that draws in wound fluid, and the perforated wound-facing layer does not adhere to the wound bed, so newly formed tissue is not disturbed at dressing changes. Absorption is vertical: fluid is carried upwards rather than spreading sideways, which protects the intact skin at the wound edge from maceration. Because it keeps its absorption and retention capacity under compression, it is a common choice for leg ulcers dressed under bandaging. The dressing is breathable and can stay in place for up to seven days where clinically indicated, reducing both dressing-change frequency and patient disturbance. The 15 × 15 cm size suits large-area pressure ulcers and larger surgical wounds. The range also includes non-adhesive and self-adhesive bordered versions, plus shaped sacrum, heel and finger dressings.
