Description
The HB 5006 gives the ankle lateral support as well as compression. Plastic stays placed on either side limit the ankle from rolling inwards or outwards, which is the decisive feature in preventing repeat strain after a sprain. The perforated neoprene keeps the area warm while allowing airflow, so it can be worn inside a shoe all day. It is used in ankle distortions, where ligament support is needed, for protection in malleolar degeneration, before and after fracture surgery, and to support haematoma resorption. Size is chosen by measuring ankle circumference, with the 20-31 cm range divided into five sizes. If you want softer support without stays, the knitted KB 301 or the figure-of-eight DNB 406 are alternatives. For post-operative use, how tightly and how long it is worn should follow your doctor's advice.
