Description
The HB 5301 is a splint designed to hold a single finger straight and extended. By preventing the finger from bending, it keeps bone and soft tissue aligned throughout healing — that is its purpose, rather than providing compression or warmth. It is made in one size for palm circumferences of 15-25 cm and is anchored across the hand and wrist. It is used in finger bone fractures, finger injuries and in tendon or nerve damage to the finger. Fitting the splint on the correct finger and at the correct angle is decisive for healing, so the first application is best made by a doctor or orthotist. If the fingertip changes colour, goes numb or the pain increases while wearing it, loosen the splint and consult your doctor. If only the thumb needs immobilising, the HB 5303 thumb splint is more appropriate.
