Description
The KB 432 is a knitted splint that supports the wrist and limits its movement. The silicone insert is shaped to the anatomy of the wrist; rather than locking the joint like a rigid splint, it guides the wrist towards a neutral position and limits strain-inducing movement. The circular-knit elastic fabric lets the skin breathe, which reduces sweat build-up during long or overnight wear. It is used in carpal and ulnar tunnel syndrome, where wrist stabilisation is required, in swelling and pain, and to keep the wrist steady after a cast is removed or following surgery. The product is made separately for the right and left hand, so the side must be specified when choosing. Size is selected by measuring wrist circumference, with the 15-21 cm range divided into three sizes. If full immobilisation is required, an HB-series splint with aluminium stays is more appropriate.
