Description
An aluminium finger splint is a simple, effective way to hold a finger in a set position. The aluminium body bends by hand to the angle your doctor specifies — the clearest advantage over pre-formed plastic splints. Foam lining on the inner face keeps the metal off the skin and helps prevent pressure sores during longer wear. It is used on medical advice for finger injuries and wherever stabilisation is needed. Different lengths and widths are available; the right size matters so the splint supports the finger along its full length. The splint is secured with tape or hook-and-loop — the wrap should not be tight enough to restrict circulation, and should be loosened if the finger goes numb or changes colour.
