Description
The Omron CompAIR C28 is a compressor (piston) nebuliser designed to deliver medication to the lower airways. It produces an aerosol with a mean particle size of about 5 microns — small enough to reach the bronchi rather than depositing in the nose and throat, which is why this class of device is used for asthma, COPD and bronchitis. It nebulises at 0.4 ml per minute and holds up to 7 ml of medication. Omron's V.V.T. (Virtual Valve Technology) mouthpiece releases medication only during inhalation, cutting the amount wasted while breathing out. Adult and child masks can be swapped for the mouthpiece, so one unit serves the whole household. Replacement medication tanks and air filters are available separately.
