Description
A cast shoe is worn during the period when you have to walk with a plastered foot. Its first job is to protect the cast: because the underside of the plaster never touches the ground directly, wear, wetting and soiling are largely avoided. Its second job is to make it possible to put the plastered foot down, which helps with weight-bearing to the extent your doctor allows. Adjustable upper straps set the width to suit the thickness of the cast, so the shoe accommodates different plaster volumes. Size follows shoe size, so state your size when ordering. Make sure the straps are fastened firmly before walking, and do not exceed the amount of weight-bearing your doctor has permitted.
